WaPo Called Me to See What I Think

Tue Nov 01, 2005 at 04:36:14 PM PDT

I just got polled by the Washington Post/ABC.  I must admit to being giddy at the opportunity.

Unfortunately, I was busy trying to get the kids dinner on the table so I couldn't take careful notes, but to my best recollection, here is what they asked - (The order is probably off, and I am sure I forgot some things  hopefully others who get polled can fill in the details):

Follow me though the turn.....

First off all the standard questions on Bushes Approval:

General Approval
War on Iraq
Economy
War on Terror
Health Care
Direction of the Country

Then it got interesting.

First questions about influence.  First question, do you think the conservative religious groups have too much influence, not enough, or just right.  Also asked about corporations I think and about the general publics level of influence.

Next questions, as you have probably heard, bush has nominated Alito to the supreme court, should the senate block or allow confirmation?  Is he too conservative, not enough, or just right (I can't help but think of the three bears when they ask this).  But the best one yet -

Alito authored a decision stating that a woman would have to notify her husband before she could get an abortion.  Knowing this, do you support his nomination more/less/same?

Also general question about supporting the end of Roe vs. Wade.

Next set of questions were about Libby.  I swore I almost pissed myself with excitement.  First question was whether it was a minor thing or a serious charge.  Also asked if though the prosecutor was fair or partisan.  Then the fun again.

You may have hear about Karl Rove.  Involved or not?  Unethical or illegal.  What about the Vice President?  What about the President? 

Yes folks, I got to answer that I though President bush broke the law.

There were also questions about whether republican were more or less corrupt than previously thought possible (definitely paraphrasing here).

A few questions about who you would vote for (Dem or Repub), who should lead in 2006 and whether the Democrats present a clear vision and difference to the Republicans (or something like that).  Then the final set of questions were about the Iraq war.  Cost Benefit: Has it made us safer?  Worth the price of the Soldiers lives?  Is it going well?  Should we stay, reduce troop levels, increase, get out gradually, or get out of dodge now?

The one question that really blew me away.

Do you believe the Bush Administration purposely mislead us to get us into this war?

I look forward to seeing the results of this once.
